Ryan Mallett died on June 27, 2023, at Destin, Florida. He was 35 years old.

Mallett was retrieved unconscious from the water around 1:10 p.m., he passed away at a nearby hospital.

The sheriff's office said that there were no signs of foul play and that the drowning appeared to be accidental.

Mallett was born in Tyler, Texas, in 1988. He played college football at the University of Arkansas, where he was a two-time All-SEC selection.

Mallett played for the Patriots, Houston Texans, and Baltimore Ravens during his NFL career.

He was a talented quarterback who had the potential to be a star in the league.

Mallett's family has released a statement asking for privacy during this difficult time.
